Furman-Panamax Provides Power Management Technology for Verizon's "My Home 2.0"

PETALUMA, Calif. — December 6, 2007 — Furman~Panamax, a world-leading provider of power management solutions, today announced that the Furman Elite-15 DM i power conditioner will be used to provide power management for the home technological makeovers in a television series called "My Home 2.0," the first episode of which will air on Friday, Dec. 7 on WTXF in Philadelphia.

Sponsored by Verizon, "My Home 2.0" shows families how they can realize the full potential of technology to improve their lives. Each show gives a technology-challenged family a complete high-tech makeover, upgrading their home with the latest networking, home entertainment, and gaming technology and products available — including Verizon's innovative FiOS services. Each house upgrade is unveiled at a community-wide block party at which the attendees watch the live action on the Jumbotron and enjoy other festivities.

For component longevity, Automatic Voltage Monitoring (AVM) circuitry, a patent-pending technology from Panamax, monitors the incoming AC power and disconnects power to connected components in case of an unsafe voltage. Once the voltage returns to safe levels, the MFP- 400 restores the power supply to the connected equipment.

"In the age of technology, many still fear or reject technology," said Yue Xu, co-host of "My Home 2.0." "We find many people who consider technology confusing, complicated, and unreliable. With 'My Home 2.0,' we want to show that technology can be simple, helpful, safe, and fun. The more you embrace it, the more it will improve your life."

"We are honored to have the Furman Elite-15 DM i, along with the other Furman~Panamax products, featured in the 'My Home 2.0' series and offer all the families our congratulations on their new technological upgrades. We know that all the installs will offer the best-possible performance, along with stunning sound and video quality, with Panamax and Furman power management added to the system," said Dave Keller, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Panamax and Furman. "The circuitry in cutting-edge technology is extremely sensitive to power irregularities, which can result in poor performance and lead to damage over time. The protection provided by our power conditioners ensures the longevity of all electronic components."

"My Home 2.0" airs on major local network channels, FiOS TV video-on-demand, and online at http://2pointhome.com.
